Eve was profitable at 50k subs. Now inflation, upgrades, and expansion are bound to bump up costs a little, but with 300k+ subs now, we're getting microtransactions, new currency, and a well timed "buddy system offer" which anyone can see is a roundabout way to bump sub numbers so you can call incarna an :awesome: success (seriously, offering one months free alt subs roughly one month before incarna?).
Milk that cashcow till it drops.

How is that irrelevant? I pay my sub fee each month and I already have the option to boost my capacity exchanging RL cash for PLEX, redeeming them in instant ISK, or in the future: AURUM. Or I can choose to make ISK thru in game means. I'm not at any disadvantage by the introduction of Vanity Spacegold. If I want me a new pink rubber suit or a new pink titan I can either use RL cash or I can farm the needed ISK in the game. No one is forcing you to use your RL cash to dress up your avatar with a monocle and a cane. No one is forcing you to use RL cash to buy yourself a new Motherhip either. You can use ISK instead.
The problem here is WHY have the new currency? Why not just seed these things for isk? The same would still apply, you could either grind the isk, or buy plex and convert to isk... The ONLY reason to add the new currency is to ensure that ALL vanity items in some way shape or form, are payed for (the first time) with RL money. Greed, nothing more.

yes it's greed to charge for a product.

For a company who prides itself on free expansions, yes it is...

No, clothing is destroyed when you get podded, but if you had a stack on monocle's in your cargo hold they will drop like normal.
Makes no sense, why would someone be fully dressed as they get plugged into their pod, and it is filled with pod goo?

Seems people are putting an awful lot of faith in CCP's statement that they're "monitoring PLEX prices". What exactly do you think they're going to do to manipulate the prices if they deviate? They can't really force you to buy them with RL cash, so they can't alter the market supply, the only thing they CAN affect is the market demand (by adding more shiny things you can buy with them). So, what happens to prices when supply remains the same, but demand increases?
It's ok, CCP are monitoring the price of plex. They'l keep it under control, after all, these are the guys that are famed for their overwhelming knowledge of the game and it's mechanics.
